The Outfield was founded in 2019 with a clear goal in mind: to address the shortage of high-quality independent coverage of New York City FC. Over the past four years, we have dedicated ourselves to providing you with what we believe to be the finest source of reporting and analysis, covering everything from tactics and analytics to the stadium project. None of this would have been possible without your unwavering support and loyalty.
So, what's in store for The Outfield in 2023? Nothing new really. We plan to write and publish our articles for free as we always have done and will do.
Some of you have asked for a way to support us. To this end, we have enabled paid subscriptions on Substack, so if you'd like to show your appreciation, you can now do so. For the price of a beer ($5 per month1), you can help show your support. You can also choose to subscribe for a full year at a discounted rate of $50, or become a Founding Member2 if you'd like to give more.
Please note that all of our content will always be available for free and publicly accessible. However, your support will help us grow The Outfield by allowing us to:
Obtain More Resources: Services such as Wyscout are costly, but they would give us access to more video and data.
Buy Beer: This one is pretty self-explanatory. If you choose to support us, we'll use some of the funds to raise a glass in your honor.
Produce Merchandise: We have some merch ideas that we'd love to bring to life.
Once again, we at The Outfield would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for your continued support. It means the world to us.❧

This was the lowest amount that Substack would let us set it at.
Yes, this was what Substack calls it.
I would happily purchase and wear some a Outfield swag.
